Your Digital Marketing Strategy: Be Where the Eyeballs Are

digital marketing strategyIn the first six months of 2013, internet advertising revenue in the U.S. totaled $20.1 billion. That represents an 18% increase from the first six months of 2012. These statistics, recently published in a report by the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB), demonstrate the importance of digital advertising in every Washington D.C. area business’s marketing mix.

Included in digital advertising is mobile marketing integration.  As we have written about, this is a major category in digital marketing and is helping skyrocket the overall dollars spent on digital advertising.  The IAB report reports that mobile advertising totaled $3 billion in the first six months of 2013, a whopping 145% increase over the first six months of 2012.  Mobile advertising is growing at a rapid rate.  But why?  Because advertisers want to be where the eyeballs are.

So what does that mean to your digital marketing strategy?

Your customers and potential customers are spending their time with mobile and the internet.  A successful digital marketing strategy needs to recognize this evolution and deliver messages to your customers at all times of the day.  Mobile devices are now being used for common everyday tasks; from surfing the internet to engaging on social media and purchasing products online to researching the next large item they are going to buy.  Reach them where they are!  It’s time to embrace mobile and include it in your digital marketing strategy.
