Important Information for Effective Washington DC’s Marketing Plans
Forbes has come out with their annual ranking of the 10 wealthiest counties in the U.S., and once again, the DC area sweeps the list. The DC area has 6 of the top 10 wealthiest counties on the list. That may sounds impressive on its own merit, but when you consider there are 3,144 counties in the U.S., it begins to demonstrate just how affluent this market is.
As an article on WTOP.com says, the D.C. area is rich with history…or just plain rich!
Surprising to some, none of these counties are in Silicon Valley or in New York where there is great wealth from Wall Street (even though Wall St. money does impact some of the NJ counties that made the list). They lie mostly in and around the DC Beltway, where there are countless tech jobs within many of the federal contracting companies based in and around the DC area. Falls Church City, VA (which has county equivalent status since 1948), Loudon County (VA), Howard County (MD), Fairfax County (VA), Arlington County (VA), and Stafford County (MD). And that list doesn’t even include Montgomery County (MD), which has come in at somewhere between 11-15th richest in the U.S. on past rankings.
